Pothamedu Viewpoint or Pothamadu is one of the important tourist destinations in Munnar. Pothamedu is a small village sitting comfortably on a high hill only 6 Km away from Munnar town in  Idukki district of the southwestern Indian state of Kerala. Pothamedu Wonderfully gifted with beautiful wonderments and attractive attractions. It is the land of picturesque wonderments and no wonder tourists enjoy here as they can get the perfect feeling of so-called Heaven on Earth. Pothamedu is one of the major tea plantation hubs of Munnar. Pothamedu view point at the top of the Pothamedu Mountain gives you a panoramic view of tea, coffee and cardamom plantations in the valley.   Here individuals can see the estates of tea, cafe, and cardamom. The mighty green mountains, hills, the breathtaking scenery, cool climate, and the scenic beauty make it sought after place for trekking, hiking, and long mountain walks. One can also reach the top of the Pothamedu viewpoint by hiring rickshaws or traveling by private vehicles.

Know Before you go

• Best time to visit Pothamedu Viewpoint is from August to May since the weather remains preferably clearer and makes for the great photo op for tourists and photographers. 
• The height at which Pothamedu Viewpoint is makes it enormously popular with visitors as they get a beautiful 360-degree view of Munnar with all of its hues.
